So in the past 15 innings, the Cubs seem to have reverted back to the garbage we saw all through June and May. Good to know.

 

Yeah, I mean it's not like they faced two of the best pitchers in the NL this year or anything.

I guess the Cubs aren't allowed to have low scoring games ever again.

Yeah, we were big time victims of a lot of great defensive plays tonight. I like Aram at the plate already - he doesn't seem to be holding back on his swings... hopefully Soriano is gonna start that streak we've all been waiting for as well.

The Cubs could be shutdown by the 2000 version of Pedro Martinez and somebody would still complain that the offense sucks.

I was at the game and it was pretty frustrating and depressing. We hit a bunch of balls right on the button and hit them right to people. We didn't have much to cheer about the entire time.

 

I will say that Soriano is looking HORRIBLE at the plate. Even in the at bats where he got hits... I couldn't believe he hit the ball at all. His timing, his swing, and his eye are all so far off right now. He's also getting booed really strongly. I guess he deserves it but I still almost feel bad for the guy.

 

Good to see Z pitch a decent game, though. It was a nice pitcher's duel and my first game of 09.

 

EDIT: Has anyone else seen the "Ozzie Mows Wrigley Field" t-shirts? As I said, this is the first game I've been to this year, and I hadn't seen the shirt until then. I think it's awesome considering all the comments he has made about the ballpark.
