I'm actually kind of glad Vitters has hit a bit of a slump. Spending most of the season down in Peoria with a late callup to Daytona wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for him. He still is young for the league and has plenty of work that he needs to do. The Cubs can afford to be patient with him.

Dolis was good and limited the walks: 5 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 9 GO-1 FO.

I must say, Daytona's offense does not look impressive - especially when Chirinos has the day off.

Hopefully, he either has to adjust b/c pitchers have started to figure and has to be mentally tough enough to work through it or is just slumping and one of the rare times in his baseball life has to work through the slump.

Just swinging at a lot of first pitches. He'll be fine. Wasn't going anywhere anyway so its just part of his first full season in baseball. Ups and downs like everyone has.

Has anyone else noticed that Samson has taken 21 BB to only 5 K on the year? That's crazy good, especially for our system.

He's hitting .286 since the beginning of May (.232 in April) and has an OBP of .350 on the year (despite hitting .258).

If he could just grow into some power (3 XBHs, 0 HRs) he could be a really useful middle IF.
