Crap - I hadn't noticed that Mathes has only TWO walks in 32 ip.

Casey Coleman has really fallen off of late. He's given up 4 thus far and is still in a jam in the 3rd inning. Marquez Smith with a solo HR though - it's his first AA home run.

Cashner struck out the side in the first and didn't walk anyone. But he gave up a run on 3 hits and a Jonathan Wyatt error.

Cashner is pitching with a blister. The trainer had come out in the first inning.

He throws 2 straight walks to open the 2nd inning.

Cashner's 1st:

2B, advances to 3rd on error.

Mound visit to check his blister.

K. 1 out.

K swinging. 2 outs.

RBI single.

2B, runner advances to 3rd.

K swinging. 3 outs.

Cashner's 2nd:

BB

BB

GO 4-3. Runners advance. 1 out.

2B, 1 runs scores.

K swinging. 2 outs.

5-3 groundout.

2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 GO-0 FO. I think he's over 60 pitches already and his night might be done.

Castro gets a double in the 3rd inning to extend his hitting streak to 7. That's double #5 on the season and (at least momentarily) he is over .300 on the season.

This is indeed Cashner's final line.

tennessee won game 1 of their doubleheader 8-7. barney and clevenger were each 2-3 with a walk, marquez smith was 3-4 with his first AA home run, thomas singled in 4 ABs. pitching was not so good - coleman gave up 4 runs in 4 innings (1 BB/1 K), muyco gave up 5 hits and a walk in an inning plus, gaub walked 2 but otherwise had an uneventful inning. schlitter got the save, striking out 1 in his inning of work.

Huseby sounding filthy. His first save (4 K's). Announcer called his slider unhittable.

Wish he'd start. He's going ~2 innings every 4th day right now.

16 IP, 15 H, 2 BB, 23 K, 2.25 ERA.
