I hope they put another one in on Huet. What the hell. If it will make more clear to Tallon that he won't cut it, it's for the greater good.

Why do they interview a bunch of people who have no idea what they're talking about?

They didnt interview me. tough lose. I fully expect the Hawks to come back Wednesday and put forth their best effort of the series.

during the regular season he didn't suck. he sucked today hard and i kind of figured he would if he started. he failed just as badly when he faced the wings at wrigley

umm, it's not?

they had a good run, but the wings are just too much, especially without khabibulin. this season was still a huge success. i hope they can find a way to extend it to game 6 so they can at least lose on home ice and get what should be a standing o afterwards for the great season theyve had.

Many times he did suck though. He had a real nice streak for awhile, but it wasn't sustained.

Huet's a horrible signing. Too bad, because there have been so many other really good personnel moves lately.

Huet was bad today...but I think Q was just as bad. The Wings were missing their best d-man. Everyone knew that Chelios was not going to get many minutes. The Hawks should have been dumping the puck in and forechecking more. Would have worn out the Wings d-men. Also, Stuart and Kronwalls biggest weakness is that they have a tendency to cough up the puck when pressured in the corners. I know it isnt fun hockey to watch and is kind of against the Hawks style, but they would have been much better served to get into a grind it out game against the Wings today. This would not only have taken pressure off their goaltender, but would have worn on the Wings d-men.

2nd, right when the Hawks needed their coach to have composure, he lost his.

but how many teams have a playoff-caliber backup goalie?

Anaheim, Boston...The Hawks/Huet big problem is that they are paying 10 million for goaltending. If you are paying that much, it should be better

I don't know about the contract situation.

Of course what he makes has nothing to do with his ability. Aaron Miles makes more than Orlando Hudson....

Wasn't he signed to replace a traded Khabi but that never actually happened?

yes. Khabibulin started the season on waivers but no team would take his contract...funny because I think all the other team would have had to pay was half of it. I imagine several teams would have liked to have Khabibulin for 3.25 million. Huet was signed to be the starter. For all the good moves Tallon has made, I think the best you can say about the goaltending situation is that the Hawks are fortunate the Khabibulin played much better this year then he has in the past couple of season.

I'm afraid that's not the case.

however their salaries are close enough to make me very angry.

The Hawks don't, that's for damn sure.

I agree with DM that it would at least be nice to give the fans one more home game, even if it's a loss. And of course it's not technically over. But if Huet starts Game 5, I give them a 1 in 10 chance of winning that game. He's that bad.

And it's been the same thing all year with him. No improvement whatsoever. Flopping too early, slow from post to post, bad rebounds. Worst of all, he has choked on the big stage. Winter Classic, down the stretch when he could have won the job, and then finally today. This was his chance to prove he could be the guy. It's clear he can't, even if his contract means he'll get the job next year anyway.
