Spring Training Summary

Okay everyone,

Because of work and other things, I have really not been able to keep up to date on anything that has happened in Spring Training this year. So, any quick summaries? Who is hitting well? Who is pitching well out of camp? I know that Gregg is closer and Marmol is set-up. But of the regulars, who is ready for the season to get started? Any surprises?

If anyone can condense 5 weeks into a few sentences, it is you all. Thanks,

MILTON BRADLEY, GEOVANY SOTO, Ryan Theriot, Alfonso Soriano.

Kevin Gregg, Ryan Dempster, Carlos Zambrano, Sean Marshall.

Lets put it this way... Bradley was batting .490 and had a 1.515 OPS when I checked a few days ago while Soriano was batting over .310 with over a .400 OBP (yes that means he was walking). Theriot is a hits machine, he was batting over .400. Soto got his power surge late. Honorable mentions to Fontentot, Hoffpauir, and Miles... they all had a heck of a spring as well!

Gregg didn't allow a run in ST as far as I know... Dempster and Marshall both had under a 1.50 ERA before they had one bad outting each to end ST. Zambrano is Zambrano.

EDIT:

Sorry guys, had to do it :-D

DLee seemed to get his stroke back the past week and a half.

Samardzija needs to be in the minors.

Gaudin was brutal and did nothing to make a case for sticking with team.

Harden was sporadic but allegedly "pain free".

Heilman looks to be a good pick up.

Thankfully, Paul Bako is not on the team.

Len and Bill sounded good on TV.
