Hahaha. Yeah, right.

It was reported on Sunday evening that the Boston Red Sox and left fielder Jason Bay, whose current contract ends after the 2009 season, have been unable to reach an agreement on an extension, and that the Red Sox are backing away from the negotiating table.

Time for a big-time trade idea!

The Chicago Cubs should trade Alfonso Soriano to the Red Sox for Bay. Straight up. Done deal.

I'd do that so fast it would....cause some effect due to how fast I did it.

It will never happen though.

The best part would be hearing them pronounce his name. Sohiano!

The best part would be unloading the rest of Soriano's contract and getting Jason Bay in return.

Well, sure. Be serious about it, Mr. Mod.

This best not happen.

Then my daughter would become a Cubs fan.

I'd have to kick her out of the house.

She's only 7.

any one of us would be happy to take her in. Going from a Pirate house to a Cubs house would feel like going from the minors to the majors for her, just like it does for all the good Pirate players.

When the Cubs trade for Bay, they'll sign him long term. She'll be a Cubs fan for life.

First of all, after Soriano's and Bradley's contracts, they can't afford him. (Boston won't take Soriano)

But, if that were to happen, I would then have to hunt him down and kill him. Too many reasons.

Boston will take Soriano. Bleacher Report said so. Bay may very well be home shopping in Chicago as we speak.

DEAL WITH IT JAKE.
