From MLBTR:

Lefties May Be Lowering Contract Expectations

By Drew Silva [February 25 at 9:08pm CST]

FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports that the agents for left-handers Joe Beimel and Will Ohman are prepared to offer more flexibility in contract negotiations with clubs.

"I would suggest any team holding back on some last-minute interest step forward and express it," Beimel's agent, Jeff Sroba said Wednesday. "Not that anything is imminent, but we are offering flexibility." Beimel, who turns 32 in April, has drawn interest primarily from the Dodgers this offseason. He went 5-1 with a 2.02 ERA for Los Angeles last season.

Ohman, 31, has deals on the table from the Pirates, Marlins and Padres, but is reportedly hoping the Phillies, Dodgers or Mets will come calling. He finished 4-1 with a 3.68 ERA last year for the Braves. "We're offering flexibility, too," said Ohman's agent, Page Odle. "We're hoping one of the playoff teams will want that shutdown lefty."

Dennys Reyes is another left-handed reliever without a job. He went 3-0 with a 2.33 ERA for the Twins last season.

Any of these guys are better than Cotts. I know Ohman is out of the question, but at a very favorable deal the other two might be tempting.

As Ive stated earlier, Id be all about Beimal, especially for as cheap as hed come at this point. However, my guess is if they wanted him, theyd have at least reached out to him by now.

Im assuming that they will first give Cotts and Stanton a shot to see how they look in ST, and the job is one of theirs to win or lose.

As for Ohman, I know he had a good season last year, but I still have nightmares about the 40 foor curve ball.

Yes but I drank beer with him at the Saucer last year in Houston, and he was cool enough to pick up mine nad my buddies tab at the end of the night, so I am on the CottsWGN I guess.

Dennis Reyes is also still without a job and wouldn't look too bad in the back of the bullpen. Hendry might be able to nab a decent b prospect for Cotts if he eats some salary and ships him off to a team like the Marlins.

Doubtful. But Cotts and Stanton seems like sucky options. Dennys Reyes is by no means exciting but I do like him better than Cotts or Stanton if that's the option we're looking at.
