Draft Rules

The major league draft will be 12 rounds held over multiple days. You have 24 hours to make your pick but we need to move faster than that whenever possible. If you cannot make your pick for some reason, let me know - you can call me at 916-335-7044 if necessary. You can also queue players and let the draft robot make your pick.

 

You can only pick players who have made a major league appearance (on a roster not in a game) or who will be an opening day roster (at your risk).

 

There will be a separate 3 round minor league draft carried out on NSBB. Draft order will be the same as the major league draft (except picks will not have been traded). I will post a thread for this draft. You will also have 24 hours to respond or forfeit your pick. If you see a potential problem with this, let me know. We can suspend the draft over weekends.

I'll raise the potential problem I saw with the same order of the draft applying to both formats, and that is that teams already start dumping (trading off their good players since they know they can't make the playoffs) now. This only increases the incentive to dump, IMO.

 

Realistically, teams shouldn't be dumping at all. There are supposed to be competitive match ups all the way through the season, and the schedule can become favorable for some teams when they match up against these teams that are trying to finish in last rather than remain competitive.

 

It's my opinion that reversing the order may not resolve the dumping issue, but it won't make someone more inclined to do it.

Nope. I have all the up to date stuff. When I went to Adobe's Support Center, it said that I have permissions that won't allow the use of the updated version of Flash Player. To remedy the situation, I would have to make manual adjustments to my registry, and here is the warning that comes before the instructions:

I got a similar e-mail saying picks 1--5 were skipped.

I'll just get my computer guy back over here. Besides the fact my computer is the main computer with 3 other computers networked to it, including the sharing of program files, it's my work computer.

 

I'm having issues with a Tiger Woods '08 game I just bought to, as my computer insists that my video card won't work with this game. I think it's another evil plot by Bill Gates to force me to unhook my shared program file network. It was a big mutha trying to figure out how to share program files on XP Pro to begin with.

I haven't gotten those e-mails, but I've gotten tons of e-mails tonight for the draft pick trades that had already been announced (a separate e-mail for each trade). I think I've gotten more than 20 e-mails on trades over the past hour.

yep - when cbs fixed the draft room, they undid all the draft pick trades. we had to go and re-execute all of the again.
