Re: Head to Head Fantasy Keeper League

So, here is the deal. Several of us have been part of an NSB Fantasy Keeper league on CBS for a few years now. It is a head to head league, and the keeper rules have been taking shape over the years. Overall, it has been a fun league.

 

That said, it looks tenuous at best for this league to continue. It has not been renewed by the Commish, and many of us are unsure of why that is the case. Some of us would like to continue with a league of this sort, but would need some new (and committed) blood to make it happen if a new league indeed must be formed. It is a league setup that would likely cost between 10-15 bucks per year, but it is a pretty well maintained league and is quite enjoyable. So, if there were 2-6 openings, are there any folks out there that would have interest?

 

We're talking a 35 man roster (25 Major leaguers, 10 minor leaguers, and some sort of DL) with a head to head schedule and flexible governing system (meaning that league owners would get to vote on all rules and rule changes, including scoring).

 

I am not willing to guarantee anything right now, as I think we'd all be for our current league being renewed. If it is not, however, I'd be willing to follow this path to see if we can get another dynasty/keeper league organized. Please post if you have interest.

The first year of the league we played 2 games per week.

2006 = 30-16 (missed playoffs by 1 game)

2007 = 17-6 (tied with Roady for 2nd and lost tie-breaker by less than 10 points)

2008 = 18-5(won division and then team decided to have mental breakdown against MM in 1st round)

 

You don't have to be bitter just because you can't get over the 6 win plateau. ;)

You got thoughts on the other forum stuff that I suggested? Also, if you can get onto DSB and Jiddy about getting signed in, that would be helpful. Nick is out, unless we need him. Not sure about the money and also not sure he can keep up with minor leaguers enough. I want to set a deadline for people to claim their teams, and if they do not, we delete those teams and either shrink to 14 teams or give one team back to Nick.

Just got logged into the league and am now overlooking the rules and the point system. It's rather in depth. Definitely going to have to use a much different draft strategy compared to Yahoo leagues I've played in. Overall though, I'm looking forward to it, thanks for letting me participate.
