The following moves have been made in the last 24 HRs:

1. FA Milton Bradley signed to an unknown deal with the Cubs

2. Marquis and $1M traded to the Rockies for Luis Vizcaino

3. FA Aaron Miles signed to a two year, $4.9 M contract

4. Mark DeRosa traded to the Indians for 3 minor league pitchers

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem like DeRo has been moved for any players from "the Peavy mix" even though trade talks are reportedly back on. I'm not sure exactly what the team is trying to set up, but Fontenot at 2B would be a decent and cheap option if he could only learn how to walk. Furthermore, is Theriot on his way out to the Pads if the talks for Peavy are back on now that the Cubs have Miles, who also walks less by comparison but at least has some sense of defensive range?

If Theriot goes to San Diego, who's your starting SS? I'm not that familiar with Miles, but does he have what it takes to be your everyday shortstop?

I certainly don't think so, no. Theriot really doesn't either though, and they're doing it anyway.
