How bad are the Thunder? The Cavs were up 66-32 at halftime and LeBron only played 17 minutes. Cleveland's starters only played for a total of 94 minutes (an average of 18.8 per player).

The Cavs are looking real, real good. Given, it is due in large part to an easy schedule. The next 6 games are against cupcakes, and with the way the Cavs are actually beating the lesser teams of the league, they could have a real shot at being 20-3.

I think the Cavs are the best team in the NBA. They are just indiscriminately killing everyone they face. They're currently up 20 at half in Charlotte on the back end of a back-to-back.

Lakers say hi

We wont be able to judge the Cavs until they get to a tougher part of their schedule. But yeah, as for right now, they're just destroying every team they face.

didnt the cavs tie a record for most consecutive wins by 10 or more or something tonight?

I don't know, could be. What gets me is that these blowouts aren't games that they incrementally gain throughout to have a lopsided score by the end. Their average lead at halftime during their current streak is right around 20 points. They've played like one or two meaningful 4th quarters in their last 10 games.

According to the AP story:

The Cavs have won eight straight games -- all by at least 12 points -- to tie an NBA record, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

As far as who is better, I don't think we can differentiate between the Celtics, Cavs and Lakers right now. The Celtics beat the Cavs by 5 to start the season but the game was in Boston and the Lakers haven't played either team. They've all played the same number of road games as well. All three are playing at a ridiculously high level right now and are just killing teams.

And the West doesn't appear to be significantly better than the East this year so you can't give the Lakers the label of best team because they play in a tougher conference.

Carmelo scored 33 points in the 3rd quarter yesterday.

Now, while that's remarkable, what I'm still trying to figure out is how he only managed 45 for the game. How do you get 33 in 12 minutes, but only 12 in the other 36 minutes?

HORNETS vs CELTICS...epic PG matchup. Chris Paul and Rajan Rondo are going at it! Seriously, matchups like this are why the NBA is so much better than years past. CP3 just got a steal in his 103rd straight game, 2nd only to Alvin Roberson. THAT dude was a bad man.

This is sort of related to your post, but there was a story on Paul Pierce in the latest SI and it said that Danny Ainge nearly completed a deal that would have traded Pierce for the rights to Chris Paul right after that draft. Just thought it was interesting because of how much that would have changed things.

the sixers just played the cavs in back to back games, and after watching these games i have some inside info - lebron james is really damn good.

I only saw the highlights from tonight, but the block he spiked off the backboard was ridiculous.

Have I missed something? How is Rajon Rondo at all part of an epic PG matchup (or is this just because CP3 is that good)?
