The Kings just played their best game since 05-06.

Don't overstate things, here :-P

uhm, i'm not. they totally controlled the blues and they've been pitiful since 05-06 (and they were mediocre then). it's not a huge feat, but it's worth noting for a young team.

and kesler is a really, really underrated player. he really impressed me last year. i've only seen one 'nucks game this year though...the caps game. yeah, not a good showcase of the team.

we tried to sign kesler to an offer sheet, but vancouver matched it :x

wow awful play by Gauthier

he is so bad. he does that stupid play up the middle all the time because it worked once.

good game for the kings though, they played tough. aside from gauthier they played a pretty solid game.

also helps for passes to go in off your def skates

sort of scary it looks like the Wings are coasting some, compared to where they were last year

but Hank and Dats in the shootout, there isn't a single thing they don't excel at. i felt bad for Labarbera

definitely. i saw their game against the rangers too. they're not at 100% yet and they're 7-1-1. hard to imagine how good they could be.

I dont think the Wings have a very good Goaltending situation. They overcame it last year when Osgood played well during the playoffs. I think they could very easily lose to a team in the playoffs with a hot goaltender, while Osgood could struggle.

i think their depth among their skaters may help them overcome any goaltending issues. it's not a lock, but i could easily see it happening.

luca sbisa played for the flyers tonight, so he's sticking around for the rest of the year apparently. i think he would've been better off in junior, but two of our defensemen are out through at least mid-December, and he's getting about 18 minutes of ice time a night. about 10 years ago we kept dainius zubrus at age 18, and he spent all year getting about 7 minute a night on the 3rd/4th line.

Huge early season game between the Wings and Sharks and there is no national coverage!!!

that should be an epic matchup. if the kings game wasn't on at the same time i'd probably figure out a way to watch it.

sweet we lost 2-1 to the lightning because mike smith stood on his head, and we traded for matt carle so we can overpay him to be mediocre for the next 3-4 years!!!

that was a really, really weird trade. was eminger terrible with philly or something? he always struck me as a similar player to carle that was never given a chance to play. on top of that, they added in downie to take on a guy who has been mediocre since the first half of his rookie year.

yes eminger is a bum and stevens hated downie, so there ya go.

3rd straight SO for Luongo, Minny could have had PP the whole game and probably still not score

Turco with probably both the best save of the year tonight but then has giveaway to Marleau who scores the winner with 30 sec to go

Anyone see this dirty hit?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNJ3X9tHqf0

From last week.

Wow. Had not seen that. Very bad. It's not like Vanryn (sp?) had just turned to face the boards.

lol @ that hit getting only 3 games. kostopoulos also

during our series with the habs last spring. he's a no-talent bum, but the nhl only has certain players and certain teams that they like to crack down on, so not much more than a slap on the wrist for him.

Nice pump up fight last night... Lucic is a BEAST!

Lucic is an inch shorter and 20 lbs lights, Komisarek was baiting him all game and then got his ASS WHOOPED.

Holy beatdown!

Not a classic fight, but only because it was so one-sided.
