I think either the team tanks completely or you want them to make the playoffs. The difference between a low seed and low in the lottery is negligible.

And tanking implies all sorts of scary things about the development of the young guys on the team. It's not like the Bulls would turn into one of the worst teams in the league in a vacuum. It would imply a lack of development of Rose, Thomas, Noah, etc. and the team would be further away from contending status than it already is. No thanks.

As a fan of basketball and of the Bulls, I would get fun out of watching any extra Bulls games, let alone playoff games. *shrug*

Playoff games are fun... especially if the Bulls make a run and play well down the stretch and look like they have a chance to win a few games and maybe a series.

I can enjoy watching my teams even if I know they don't have much, if any, chance to win a championship.

I know that of all the playoff "runs" we had the last few years, the one I enjoyed the most was the second one when we lost in 6 games to the Heat. A season where we went 41-41. It was fun because that team was really on a run at the end of the regular season, and the team had no business being in any of those games against the Heat, but they won 2 of the games, and stayed very close in 2 others.

I pretty much agree with this. Although it's hard for me to say I enjoyed it more than the following year when we swept Miami and at least fought back a little after falling down 3-0 to Detroit, I think I did.

Sweeping the defending champs was way more fun.

http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/26/obama-possibly-to-attend-friday/

The Washington Wizards returned to practice Thursday in preparation for their game against the Bulls amid buzz that another visitor with Chicago ties will be on hand Friday at Verizon Center -- President Barack Obama.

Wizards employees were instructed to expect heavy security, and customers using Verizon Center's underground parking lot received notice that their vehicles will be subject to searches and they could face delays.

It would mark the first time since he was elected that Obama has attended a game played by the Wizards, whose owner Abe Pollin was a campaign donor. Pollin also has extended an invitation for the president, an avid basketball fan and player, to use the team's practice facilities for pickup games if he desires.

The feeling in the Wizards' locker room was, well, slightly mixed.

“The way we've been performing lately, I don't know about that,” said Antawn Jamison, who let out a chuckle before continuing. “But it'd be special, the first time being in his presence and so forth, and having the new president here would be awesome. ... I hope [reports of Obama's attendance] are correct, and I'll do 360s and windmills for him tomorrow.”

absolutely disgusting. way to win it for red, boys! can't even beat the worst team in the conference.

eff this team. i'm now actively rooting against them the rest of this way. vdn needs to go, and now.

How can this team compete with the good teams in the league but then fail time and time again against some of the worst? That has to come down on coaching, right?

This is putrid. The defensive 'effort' the whole game has been a complete joke.

Can't defend, can't score inside, and can't shoot 3s. The offensive philosophy (which is completely ill suited for Rose) is designed to generate mid range shot jumpers but they suck at making those too. How about 1 aggressive screen at the top of the circle with Rose? JUST ONCE.

Get Vinny outta town.
