Wondering what you all thought about that?

After turning down a decent offer last year, why would AM accept a lesser deal this year. Obviously the package should be less since BRob is a year older and now is one year away from FA instead of 2.

I don't see how 2B is even a priority unless he is also capable of hitting in the 3-hole. If the 2B we're looking to get isn't Chase Utley, this team has a couple of other position of greater importance.

DeRosa was one of the best 2B in the league last year. Utley was clearly the best, but you could make a case that DeRosa was the 2nd or 3rd best.

If DeRosa is capable of repeating his performance this year, the Cubs don't need a 2B.

I wasn't thinking about DRo at 2nd...put him in right field most of the year..

thinking more about getting Soriano out of the lead off

HEY Mephistopheles I know lead-off is not a position you [expletive] jackass.

My topic was pretty easy to understand. Don't be a prick. It is my opinion regarding the lead-off batter that sucked during the playoffs and maybe the team needs to get someone that would get on base before we let a guy strikeout with pitches out of the strikezone

Bob Sanders you can shove it too.

I am not angry, but blogs are nothing but mostly uneducated opinions of people with no experience of actual knowledge. As I am a doctor, I am amazed at home many people think they know more than I do about their health. So Bob - this message is brought to you by the letters "F" and "U"

In case you come back to read this, I'm pretty sure the O's already did or are planning to extend Roberts rather than trade him. The feeling here is that they have a good young nucleus with Markakis, Jones, etc. and having some upbeat vets like Roberts around will help them develop.

Damn it's nice to have Meph back in the forum. Spineguy, enough with the personal attacks. Attack the argument, not the man.

Somebody's not going to last very long here posting like that.

The Cubs don't need Brian Roberts and they don't need a new leadoff hitter.

Oh goodie, I was hoping someone would provoke Modzilla out of his cave. I love seeing that avatar.

Gee Meph, you've been back what a week and a half and you're already making people hate you again? Hahaha

If this place wants to be serious about enforcing board guidelines then this guy should be gone for this post

Hell, I'll take 2006, 2007 or 2008 DeRosa. I'm not picky. He stepped up when he started playing fulltime.
