Yeah, that's the guy on TV who caught those HR balls at Yankee Stadium.

You mean the guy in right center who did the cabbage patch after he caught them?

That's the guy ... he caught HR balls during the first two games of the Yankees/White Sox series. He then wore a bright yellow Homer Simpson t-shirt during the third game to make sure he stood out on TV.

The sign language cracked me up.

Is it me or does he seem he might be Autistic?

I got that feeling too.

I think it's pretty cool what he does, if it's his hobby. It's no worse than collecting action figures or going to Star Wars conventions which other grown men do.

He may be a slight douchebag about it, but if it's his hobby... leave him alone.

INB4 "That's you isn't it!?" :)

Maybe I'm just a prick, but I'm prepared to pass the same judgment on those folks.

Yea me too... but they're still out there, it's just a hobby.

I don't know, even as a hobby, it's kinda lame.

I have a single ball that I got during batting practice. I'm done. Everyone should experience the joy of getting a ball at the ballpark.

He also has a book out on Amazon:

Watching Baseball Smarter: A Professional Fan's Guide for Beginners, Semi-experts, and Deeply Serious Geeks

Starred Review. "Professional fan" Hample (How to Snag Major League Baseballs), who falls squarely in the "deeply serious geek" category, has put together an invaluable resource for armchair fans. A former college shortstop, four-time attendee of Bucky Dent's Baseball School and an obsessive baseball collector, Hample covers basics like what to watch for in pitchers, catchers, hitters, fielders and base runners; he also provides answers to such nagging questions as why spectators stretch in the seventh inning and why most ballplayers grab their crotches.

Yeah. The way he counts everything (his balls, the days between caught balls,...)and he also seems extremely upset about a guy that used his elbows in a fight for a ball.

Oh, and him knowing how to ask for a ball in sign language is awesome. Weird, but awesome.

Apparently this guy also caught the last Mets home run in Shea Stadium. You know ... the one that Beltran hit to tie up the game vs. the Marlins. Amazing.

I have saved that assbags face to memory so if I ever see him at a game I can punch him square in the nuts.

then when he drops all of his balls I can give them to all of the kids sitting around him.
