Heres a thought. Say the Mets win today, and the Brewers lose. Do the Brewers really want to pitch CC tommorow on short rest? Say that the 1 game playoff with the Mets is forced, and they have to use Dave Bush or 4 innings of Gallardo plus the pen. Its living dangerously.

 

I don't think the Brewers would have any choice in that matter. If they don't use CC tomorrow (if they lose today) and they fall short of the playoffs by one game then the Brewers would be criticized all offseason. You either use CC and possibly win (remember CC hasn't look all that great against the Cubs, so let's not assume he would even bet the Cubs on Sunday) on Sunday and forced the 1 game playoff, or not use CC and possibly miss the playoffs by one game.

 

IMO, the Brewers have to use CC tomorrow.

Zambrano will start and pitch 1 or 2 innings tomorrow.

 

Interesting. I hope his shoulder is ok

 

Lou did this last year with Lilly (started him for 2 innings and then had him pitch on "3 days rest" in Game 2), and Lilly looked awful in the playoffs.
