I know what he's talking about too. Like he said, in Houston. It was, I believe, the same day that Neifi saved us.

 

I went from complete disappointment to elation within a matter of minutes that day.

 

Next thing you know there's shots of the hoards of people looking to buy one game playoff tickets.

 

 

EDIT - Nevermind... I think Beck blew that game. I remember Mulholland screwing something up at the Astrodome, though.

 

I remember Mulholland overthrowing Grace's head in the Astrodome too. I think it was in extra innings.

Anyone remember a play (I believe) from that year where Mulholland was brought into a bases loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the 9th agains the Astros? On what would've been the final out he gets an easy comebacker and just absolutely flubs a soft toss over Grace's head and the Astros win?

This game was absolutely epic. I remember being happy that Notre Dame (lol Jarious Jackson lol) upsetting Michigan earlier that day and then the Cubs looked like they were gonna get routed, came back, looked they were gonna get routed again, came back AGAIN and Merced hit that walk-off.

 

That game was pandemonium.

I remember that watching that game with a bunch of high school friends. We were livid for about two minutes before one of us said: "You know there's no way we'd even be competing right now if Brown didn't do a kick@** job filling in for 1-Dog." Basically calmed us down.

 

Anyone remember the look on Beck's face when it happened? You didn't know if he was going to go up to Brown after the game and let him know it was no big deal, or light into him.
