I just wish people in Houston and/or Astros fans would just shut up about their predicament. It's embarrassing that they are whining more then a democrat.

And the bitterness continues:

They're not gonna let it go. Never mind that they completely collapsed after they left Milwaukee. It's all because of those two games.

Hey, if you're that fragile that two losses cause you to collapse in all your games afterwards too, then maybe you aren't a playoff team to begin with. Just a thought.

Sounds like Berkman might finally be coming to grips with reality, at least from what he has said in this article. Dated earlier this morning.

"Major League Baseball has always valued the dollar more than they do the individual, the players and their families," Lance Berkman said, according to the Houston Chronicle on Sunday. "That's illustrated in things like playing through a lightning storm in Chicago [on Aug. 4].

"The most important thing is getting the game in so you don't lose the gate and you don't lose the revenue. That's A-No. 1. And then if in the course of that you can work it around where players aren't affected, that's a distant second. That's one reason why players try to exploit the system to the max because they know they're being treated the same way. That's a sad part of the game."

Please. Stop.

So he's pissed because owners don't want to lose gate? The gate pays for your salary. Just amazing how a player can earn millions and million of dollars, get the best equipment, best medical care, and still feel slighted?!?! Just shut up!

What I don't get is how making them play through a lightning storm illustrates MLB's love of the dollar. The game was official before the rain delay, so the gate had already been collected. Playing after the delay wasn't going to net more money for MLB.
