Obviously they won't look to project out numbers when voting for the MVP, but these are stupid numbers to put up from the leadoff spot.

Yeah, lou is a idiot and a soriano is selfish hack.

You're misinterpreting what he wrote.

I change my pick, the Cubs are 48-15 when Marmol pitches in a game, and 28-33 when he doesn't. He should be baseball's MVP.

Outstanding logic

Comparing a pitcher to a position player. LOL.

it's hilarious watching everything blow right over your head

What's more hilarious is that you think I didn't know he was just going by records to tell me that's what I was doing. Hilarious that you think I didn't know that. :rotfl:

just admit that your argument for soriano being MVP is a terrible one and be done with it.

Umm, no. If you think it's a terrible one, you really haven't a very high baseball IQ.

looooooooooooooool

you're right... the Cubs are a .500 team without Soriano

maybe if nobody plays LF and there's an automatic out in his lineup spot in his absence ....amirite?

Find me the quote I said they were a .500 team without him, Genius. I said 85-77.

EVEN IF the discrepancies in the Cubs records with/without Soriano were SOLELY do to his presence/absence (which is completely and utterly absurd to suggest, might I add), do you not realize that that alone wouldn't be enough to make him the most valuable player?

why, there's no telling what the Cardinals would do without Pujols, or the Brewers without Braun, or the Phillies without Utley, or the Astros without Berkman.

I could go on.....

48-15 with him, 28-33 without him. Nuff said.

Yup. And he really sets the tone for the offense in those games. Like I said, outstanding logic.

Who cares what he does to help the team, they are obviously 48-15 with him and a horrible 28-33 without him. Are you trying to tell me that there is more to a player's value than W/L record in games they appear in?

I put his personal stats up as well. Of course, you choose to ignore them, so carry on with Marmol for MVP!! Wooo hooo!

No I saw them but didn't feel they added to your argument. His projected 162 game HRs and RBIs? His relative place among leadoff hitters? And your RPG argument didn't really prove anything, since you chose to ignore several times my points about the fact that there were other factors at play besides Soriano being out.

They are beyond ridiculous. That said, take the numbers away and look at the record of the team. The Cubs are something like 26-28 this year when he was injured. They are a crazy 50-20 when he is in the lineup leading off.

Len and Bob, if you are lurking, start the train rolling for Sori tonight on the air.

Tell me exactly what you're trying to prove with this little tidbit, then.

This might be the stupidest someone has ever made themselves look over and over again on this board. And that's saying a lot.

Hmmm, Piniella's and DeRo's comments weren't good enough for you either?

did it take you an extra minute to think that one up?

Much shorter then that weak retort that you came up with.

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I can find all kinds of quotes by major leaguers talking up crappy players (like Theriot talking about Neifi's greatness).

i bet if you asked a player and manager from every team, they'd offer support for soriano as MVP too.

Lmao, so if a teammate and/or manager says that a team's best player was missed when he was out and they're glad to have him back, he's MVP?

Then again, when Pujols was out, TLR and Troy Glaus said they were glad he was hurt because he's not a gamer and they would still be awesome without him.
