Please, Fontenot needs to be swinging at that pitch with 2 strikes.

We only managed to score 1 run the last time Jerry Meals was behind the plate.

Coincidence ??

Were Aramis, Lee, and Soto all sitting in that game too? Can't expect to win too many games with those guys on the bench to start the game.

You can be mad at MF for not protecting with 2 strikes, but cripes guys... that last K ended in the RH batters box.

It's where the pitch goes over the strike zone.

I actually thought that last pitch looked pretty good.

Unbelieveable. 13, count them THIRTEEN men left on base.

Fred, when's the last time the Cubs left 13 men on base?

Guess I need to get my eyes checked, cause if crossed any part of the zone, it was the very tip of the left front corner of the plate.

Yes, many of those rallies were with 2 outs. That's what happens when you have 1 out to work with.

Oh well...it was a crappy lineup. We rested some guys...go get them tomorrow.

But you'd think with 5 oppurtunities, we could get a hit at least one of those times.

Yes, you would think so. I'm not going to be upset about losing a game on the road with no Lee, Ramirez or Soto and with Marshall spot starting. Win tomorrow and they win the series.

ETA: At least they're getting guys on base; they didn't let the results of the early part of the game frustrate them.

I only keep tabs of individual LOB, not team totals, so I can't really say. The sum of the individual LOBs tonight is 19. In Wed's 2nd game, for example, the total was 23. The high for the year is 34, and the average is 16.

I suspect the Cubs will pound the Marlins tomorrow. The Marlins have struggled lately and the Cubs have been red-hot, I suspect the Cubs will win tomorrow handily, something like 13-2.
