08-09' Blackhawks (46-24-12) 104 PTS - 4th Seed In The West!

Some people may think the Hawks "took it to 'em" but in reality they got their asses handed to them. I'm sure Vancouver, and any other team, would love to trade the physical fight for the 4 goal win any time. It's not like the Blackhawks have any actual intimidating players.

 

It wasn't about that game anymore, it was about the next one (or the next "series").

 

That may be true...but picking fights with the Sedins is not intimidating anyone, even the Sedins. I am not going to dig through the thread to find any examples, but this kind of goonery has been bashed by several Hawks fans here.

 

The Sedins happened to be on the ice, but the bigger combatants were O'Brien, Burrows and Bieksa. Who rank 3rd, 28th and 63rd in PIMs in the league, respectively.

 

But the brawl started when Burish went after one of the Sedins...not O'Brien, Burrows or Bieksa. Also Burrows may have a lot of penalty minutes but he has to be the worst fighter in the league, heck Vincent LeCavilier beat him up a couple of years ago. I am going to drop it, but the desired effect that you guys think you got is not heart or toughness and has no effect on winning hockey games.

That's not what happened at all. I just watched the video again. Burish was standing there by the Sedins with two linesmen there between them, and O'Brien came storming in after Burish. Seabrook then paired off with him.

Another crap penalty call led to that PP. Campbell's feet got tied up with Higgins, so it must have been interference. I can't believe how bad officiating is in this league.

 

I am not blaming this game on the refs, but they aren't doing the Hawks any favors.

This is much the same as the other night. They aren't playing that poorly. But the defense has been bad at the wrong times and the offense seems a bit snakebit.

These Canadiens are a bunch of pansies, by the way. Several times tonight they have taken dives. There was a high stick in the 2nd period that got near one of their faces. The guy cleared the puck, then a second later went down in a heap like he was hit. Terrible.
