2nd run at Kane... Brouwer tries to fight Lilja, and he pussies out... what's new?

And then Stuart did the same thing when Eager wanted to go. What a bunch of pansies.

Holy Veterans Committee is this game getting nasty.... something bad is going to happen.

I like it. The Hawks need to wake up a bit tonight.

They've had plenty of opportunities, just bad bounces... karma will come around... I still maintain this game comes down to the last 10 minutes of the 3rd. Hawks have outplayed the Wings by a wide margin.

Wow, nice shot by Franzen.

We're gonna see what these guys are made of now.

Gahhhh what a nice shot, but I disagree that the Wings should have even had a PP. But regardless of anything, what a snipe by Franzen.

See guys, that's Kane again doing things that are out of line after getting hit clean. This sort of thing is really disconcerting to me.

Is Kane alright? I'm a hockey noob, but chicagosports.com had a headline up that he left the game with a knee injury. Looks like he's playing now, though.

He's playing now, putting up his high stick he'll admit too tomorrow after getting a borderline high hit, and then hit again in the 2nd period.

There's nothing to admit or deny. At least last time he could've claimed it was an accident. There's no plausible deniability with this one. And it wasn't as bad. But still, if he gets a reputation, it won't be good.

Wow... not that's just EMBARRASSING... Eager get's the penalty (I agree).... but [expletive] Old [expletive] Chelios gets away with that? Blatant referee negligence... that is so sad.

Wings really took control of that period after the Franzen goal. Up until the Kane high stick I thought all the penalties were pretty cheap.

The Wings dont usually get into fights unless its McCarty. If Kane doesnt want to get hit, dont stand still with the puck. If the Hawks dont like it, maybe they should try some clean hitting, just my opinion.

Hawks really outplayed the Wings until the 2nd goal. I think they are showing their age a little by getting frustrated instead of just keeping up the pressure. It seemed like they only got a couple of shots in the last 15 mins of the 2nd.

Usually get some leeway after getting hit like that. It takes a lot to get a matching penalty. Eager could have just as easily gotten a matching on Lebda's crosschecking earlier, same kind of shenanigans.

I'd tend to agree with you, but Chelios gets away with a hell of a lot of [expletive] because he's older than most of the refs :(

It's time to set the tone for Thursday now. It may be a huge event for the league and the city, but win or lose tonight the WC is a huge game for the Hawks.

They need to throw some checks and stir it up now.

Well, that sucked. It was a good run. I've been saying for the last several games that they were due for a dud sooner or later. Just wish it hadn't come against Detroit.

Wish I could blame anything else but the Hawks...

Hawks started off strong and I can't believe they didn't score at least 2 in the 1st. I still think they outplayed the Wings for the first 10 minutes of the 2nd... but not good enough... lucky bounces and a strong last 30 minutes were the demise of the Hawks.

Was a great game to watch, as hard as it is to say that.

I agree with Olcycz...Conklin was the difference, plus Versteeg just blowing that shot when the score was 1-0. I dont think 4-0 was a good indication of how this game really was. I do think the Hawks got frustrated and didnt play nearly as well from the mid of 2nd on.

I dont watch as much Blackhawk hockey as you guys. I know Detroit is a hard team to get good hits on, but I noticed that the Hawks arent really that physical of a team. Also as good as Conklin was, they really didnt put pressure on him after the shots. They seem to just make some good plays to set up shots and than dont attack the net when the shot is taken, especially on the PP. As good as Conklin was tonight, how often was he looking through a screen or fighting to keep a rebound from an attacking forward? 2 of Detroits goals were caused by these kind of plays.

Sucks when Ty Roy never gave up a rebound :(

Sorry... It's hard for me to admit my golden team finally got dominated... leave me alone!
