The Hawks have been involved in some really good hockey games lately. Too bad I'm not able to watch this one.

PMing you now... I got you.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I didn't get it until after the game.

I'm a bit nervous for the stupid circus trip, hopefully they can get some points on the road. Thank God OT/SO losses are worth a point, otherwise the record would not look so hot.

This is a hell of a trip. But these guys have all been on road trips before. It's seven games? I'd be pleased with 4-2-1 or even 4-3.

That'd be 8-9 points out of a possible 14. I would certainly take that. Especially on a 7 game road trip, with lots of game on the West coast against good teams.

No offense but you guys are delusional if you think the Hawks will win 4 on this road trip.

I misspoke before, it's actually a six-game trip, not seven.

And on that trip the Hawks play the 11th, 13th and 14th place teams in the west and the 10th place team in the east. And, yes, San Jose (1st) and Anaheim (4th).

I'll go back on saying they'll win four since it's a shorter trip than I thought. I want to see seven points on the trip though.

So, 18 games, 7 wins?

16 games, but yes. This team is definitely exciting. The jury is still out on whether they are actually good.

That's probably the best way to put it.

It's been 15 years since watching/listening to (you know, cuz the home games weren't on TV) the Hawks was a can't-miss thing. My fiance is already tired of all the hockey on the TV. And I refuse to watch it in SD, so I'm totally hogging the HDTV (which also has the DVR).

They are good, they just have to finish games off in OT. Losing games because of a 4 on 4 goal or a SO doesn't mean you are a bad team.

Their largest loss deficit is 2 goals. Like you said, just need to finish games off in OT... or better yet, lets not let it get that far as much ;)

If you do it consistently enough, yes it does.

debateable

There will be plenty of time for that debate in the playoffs, which every team that had more losses than wins last season missed, regardless of how many of those losses were in overtime and shootouts.

Really worried about this trip/tonight... going under .500 would really set us back in the division.

Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I don't see this trip as being as bad as most years when they hit up CAL-EDM-VAN over Thanksgiving.

Basically, it's two three-game trips. They'll go home after Toronto on Saturday for a few days before heading to San Jose. As Foley said the other night in his best line of the new season, "it'll give us a chance to change our underwear."

Obviously, winning tonight's game against a not-so-good Phoenix team will be big.

Phoenix is pretty good, actually. they're very talented, at the very least. there isn't a really bad team in the west right now except for St. Louis, and the Blues are only bad because they have like 55 guys on the IR right now.

I agree. I really like PHX and they have two outstanding young talents in Mueller and Turris who both should be big time stars possibly in the same realm as Kane and Toews. So this game is definately going to be a tough one for the Hawks, but perhaps an exciting game that feature what could be four of the best young players in the game today.

First period is cruising right by. Good pace to the game. Won't be long before Eager and McGrattin throw down.

Can't believe they both pussed out there. Hasn't been anything exciting as of yet... should have fought and sparked at elast one of the teams. Such a boring game so far =\
