Rays targeting Casey Blake

The Rays are targeting Casey Blake in trade talks, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports.

 

The team would seem to be at least as well off with Eric Hinske backed up by Jonny Gomes and Gabe Gross in right field, but management wants another experienced bat and Blake's versatility would make him useful as a part-timer. If a deal is struck, it'd be no surprise to see Gomes go the other way, as the Rays would have no further use for him. The Mets are also believed to have some interest in Blake.
