It's one thing for fans to do it. It's another thing for team employees to do it.

I had a friend during college that was a DJ for the university's radio station. He was a communications major and got the job. They had set play lists. This was during the height of the OJ trials and on the playlist was "Backstabber" by the Ojays.

 

He made a comment about it before he played the song. Something pretty subtle such as as "Coincidentally, here is "backstabber" by the Ojays." followed by some laughter on his part.

 

He finished his shift and immediately was asked into the office of the powers that be. He was able to keep the job was closely monitored anytime he was on air.
