I am pretty happy with the player spread with 16 but you do end up with some less active managers. We could probably hand pick from now until the draft and come up with 16.

12 at least. Anything less leaves teams too loaded. I'd prefer 12 or 14 to 16 managers.

Yeah, I like 16 if it's at all possible. No whiney bitches? That leaves me out. I also enjoy the H2H format. Nothing better than getting creamed by the last place team in the league because your team sucks that week.

I don't know much about Rob, but it seems like he posts a lot in the Fantasy Baseball forum. I've always had respect for that dude who spells his name backwards, RyanDolin (nilodnayr).

Roady has been a pretty good manager in the other league, Juan, and seems to play nice without excess bitching. Mooch has also been very active over there.

This idea does seem interesting to me, but I really don't think I have enough time to devote to it. I'm already spreading myself a bit thin when it comes to fantasy baseball (three leagues, two different types). Between my job, travelling a fair amount during the summer, and other interests I don't think I could do justice participating in four leagues of three different types. I enjoy fantasy baseball, but there's a limit. So I think I'll have to pass for now, but that could change in the future if replacement managers are eventually needed.

 

Caveat: My comments are based on the assumption that we're talking about a new league as opposed to restructuring the existing league. As has been pointed out by others, if we're talking about restructuring the existing league it realistically couldn't be done until 2010 since draft picks for 2009 are already being traded.
