All I know is that I have work tomorrow, and i have to wake up at 6am and that I had 9 beers for no resson. God dmnit. Also, I had to sit nect to a really annoying yankes fan. He used all of the lines about jeter... i couldve made this stuff up -- intangibles, no off the field problems, gamer, and better this year than reyes because he's a hall of famer.

GOD! why did we have to lose

I think we all can agree that if ARam---and not Uggla---was up with the bases loaded and nobody out, ARam would have brought in AT LEAST 2 runs.

i think we are all rubes for selig's plan... if the game didn't count for anything, how long is the game thread and how many people are up after midnight talking about it?

Honestly who gives a crap how many people watched. The biggest joke in sports is the fact that the stupid ass all star game decides home field advantage for the World Series. Honestly, I cannot comprehend how [expletive] that is. My mind is honestly going to explode. I mean geez, if the N.L. team wins 100+ games in the regular season and sweeps its way to the World Series, it doesnt matter, the team in the A.L. that won 88 games as the wild card should have the home field?

I probably completely missed the point of this comment, but still, Bud Selig is an idiot. And by probably, I mean definitely.

And I am kinda drunk. But, none the less, Selig is an idiot.

Are there no owners who will go against Selig on this? Surely there must be at least a couple who think it's a stupid idea... and I bet Mark Cuban would be one of them if given the chance.

Who won MVP? I turned it off.

Dan Uggla. They could not have won without him.

hahaha if MLB had any balls they would have given him the MVP

NFL: Hawaii. Just like playing sandlot football.

NBA and NHL: Best record gets Home Court/Home Ice Advantage.

MLB: ASG: it's like playing Game 163 in the middle of the season.

The MLB is the only sports league in which there is something on the line. Which is stupid. For alot of guys in tonight's game, this is essentially Game 163 they will have played in.

Probably why Cuban's having such a hard time getting a fair shot at ownership.

Uggla: 0-4, 3Ks, DP, 6 LOB. 3 Errors. He had his finger prints all over this loss.

It's good, actually; 2003 was a long time ago, I needed some new fuel for Marlin hatred. This works.

I wish they had game scores for position players like they do for pitchers, only inverted. This would have to be the definition of the worst game score you could think up. Uggla would have been better off going 0-4 with 4Ks! I can't remember a worse single game performance by a position player.

we all know that not setting home field to the team that has the best record is crap. i can give clear evidence how stupid it is by using another sport as an example- hockey.

in the stanley cup final, home ice is determined by number of points the team has. which means the presidents trophy winner could get upset in game 7 of the conference finals after the other team in the other conference sweeps their opponent. you know how many players are on a playoff hoceky roster? at least 20-

3 forwards*4 lines=12

2 d-men*6 pairings=6

2 goalies=2

total=20

and this doesn't count any healthy scratches, so bump that number up to 23. arranging accomodations for 23 players isn't easy especially when plans can change at the last minute, but the nhl does it and they have done it for a very long time. baseball needs to get the instructions from hockey on how to plan in advance for championship finals accomodations and get over itself.

well the advertisers and the televising network do, since that determines how much money they pay for the game.

What was more memorable of this gathering, however you look at the spectrum.... Hamilton's 28 HRs in one round, or that??

I hate Uggla for possibly costing us HFA (if the Cubs win the NL pennant), but in the end... gotta feel for the guy a little bit. On a big stage like that and you post that line??

Obviously I am Captain Obvious for saying this, but its cause its in the middle of the season. And I know I'm not the only who says why does the All Star Game have to matter in the first place? Honestly, half the damn crowd, and thats a generous estimate, was gone by the 9th inning. By the 13th inning, only about 25% of the crowd was still there.

So again I say, Bud Selig, how [expletive] can you be. The All Star game was fine before your dumb ass messed with it.

After a game like this, and since the new "HFA" rule was put in... and no, not because the NL lost... I agree with the person who said just skip the whole deal and give everyone 4-5 days off.

And re-instate & keep the "best record gets HFA" rule.

Yeah, and Hanley Ramirez had the other error although, it setup an opportunity for Z to show off his pickoff skills.

Man, so close to a freaking tie ending HFA being determined by this game once and for all.

We need Bruce Miles to starting throwing out articles about how this "HFA" crap needs to go.

Why is it always a freakin Texas Ranger that ruins it? A player on a team that won't even come close to sniffing the playoffs might cost the Cubs a World Series.

What a joke

So best record is fair, now? The Celtics beat up on the weak Eastern Conference this year and got home court in the NBA finals. Same could happen every year in baseball.

Why not use league vs. league interleague record? This way the stronger league gets HFA. The AL is clearly a better league this year and interleague proved it. Let them have HFA.

would that be the same Boston Celtics team that went 25-5 against the West last year?

yeah, don't let facts get in the way of your arguments
