You can pretty much throw out pitching matchups when the Crew are at home. Brewers will very likely win this game obviously.

I guess your right with Josh Fogg winning a game and Ben Sheets losing a game in this homestand

One example doesn't overturn the general rule. The Crew are 30-16 at home, a .652 winning percentage.

Yeah they are a good home team but that doesnt mean you can ignore the fact that the NL's ERA leader is starting for the visitors. Or wait I think Lincecum is now the ERA leader. Guess we don't have to worry about him tomorrow though

Well we've actually got a more favorable "matchup" tomorrow than this is supposed to be for the Crew, but when you look at the records of a team like the Brewers and Cubs at home, it doesn't take much to see that the team will beat a good pitcher more often at home.

So in short -- I'd rather be facing Lincecum tomorrow at home than in SF.

yadier molina is hitting .312 now??? son of a bitch.

6-3 cards. keep sticking with this pitcher, russell, his sparkling ERA of 10.38 indicates that he will turn it around any minute now.

Does he have anything else to go to? Honestly I don't even care to look since it's been almost a guarantee that the Pirates will turn into garbage every year on the whole.

probably not. the problem is that their starting pitchers are extremely unreliable and don't throw strikes. their starters' ERA is 5.57, the worst in baseball. OBP against .375, OPS against .852, WHIP 1.67 - again, all of these are the worst in baseball. besides texas, they've thrown the least innings. to put these numbers in perspective, jason marquis - who basically everyone on this board hates - has a 4.43 ERA, .338 OBP against, .732 OPS against, and 1.43 WHIP. he's MUCH better than the average pirates starter.

i guess russell is between a rock and a hard place..... he can leave the starters out there to get destroyed every game, or he can overwork his bullpen to the point of exhaustion.

Alright Dusty your young arm now has 110 pitches through 6.2. Got the guts to pull him?

......nope. Leaves him in.

This is typical Dusty. He's lucky the decision to leave Volquez in didn't backfire, although Hardy was very close to making that happen.

Yeap. Dusty is still Dusty.

After what our manager just pulled, I am not saying anything.

Well inning over but with the meat of the Brewer order coming up a 2 run lead feels much safer than a 1 run lead. Hopefully Yost brings Gagne out one more inning.

Weathers again. Dusty likes him.

"Dude, one time when I was managing the Cubs, this dude comes out of the bullpen to start and he shut us down. It was like a complete game shutout. Dude threw like 45 pitches. You just gotta tip your cap."

Hah. Might have to just tip your cap to Corey Hart if Weathers isn't careful here.
