Here's some new info according to Chicago SportsNet Chicago:

-Initial bids are due by July 18

-4 or 5 bidders will "advance" to the next stage

-A new owner is expected to be selected near the end of the season

Not a whole lot, but it seems to be moving forward.

If Cuban gets this team and the Cubs are still in first (if this is done before the end of the season), I fully expect to drop dead of pure bliss.

With Harden and Z both sporting second-half ERAs under 2.75, hopefully.

Cubs Fever is reaching an all-time high.

If the Cuban-owned Cubs win the WS this year, I think the sudden release of joy will look like Akira coming back to Neo-Tokyo.

Is that Fukudome in a Sox hat?

Wonder if we will know who the finalists are, or who drops out.

I was thinking something more along the lines of the Stay-Puft marshmallow man distributing his marshmallow-y goodness all over NYC, but that works too

yep, my friend and i have already talked about this...we may be flying up to chicago if indeed that happens...the vibe there is going to intense...

as a side note...is it wrong for me to only want the cubs to win the whole shibang at home!?

i mean after waiting this long, it just seems like the only way to go
