Didn't see this posted. But wow. You could make a pretty good team of guys who are in the minors this season because of slumping, who have had some ML success.

C- Towles

1b- Butler

2B- A Cabrera

3B- Fields

OF- Francouer

SP- R. Hill, Willis, Liriano, Morales, C James

RP- Borowski

If you have Towles in this list, may as well put in Felix Pie as well. Unlike Hill, Willis, and Francouer who have had a few years of major league success, a lot of the others are basically prospects who werent ready yet.

Butler was as good as Hill for pretty much the same amount of time.

um...no.

maybe not, but still he was pretty damn good for a 21 year old.

damn, you gave up way too easy on that one. i really wanted to argue about this.

Well, I know you are probably right. I am just a huge fan of Billy. Have talked to him a ton when graphhing in Wchita and Kansas City. So I know I overvalue him. But still, he had a damn good year for a 21 year old.

Francouer is an extremely gifted athlete and seems to have the perfect physical characteristics of an outstanding baseball player. I think maybe he's just not that smart. Given his tools, he should definitely be better than he is.

Lot's of players with the "tools" of Francouer get by on tools alone until they make it to MLB.

That being my point. He's not smart enough to adjust.

When did Towles get sent down?

Early June.

FWIW, Butler is back with the Royals, he's 6 for 14 with a double and HR since being recalled.

The only reason he was sent down is because of his attitude. Well that and when Guillen snapped about the young players on the team he meant Butler. Yep, the Royals sent down a huge part of their future to appease Jose Guillen. You know the same Jose Guillen the Angels left off of their playoff roster a few years back because he was a clubhouse cancer. What a joke the Royals are.

Haha, no. The reason why he got sent down was that his plate discipline was just terrible, and he was in a major funk during the time. When Guillen snapped, commenting that the players weren't winning and that the losing was getting old, he was right. The Royals team desperately needs to find an identity, and to do that, they're going to have to cut the lazy pieces of lazy players that was bringing this club down.

Yeah, he's a clubhouse cancer all right when he was just only complaining that the 12 game losing streak was getting old.

I should also point out that the Seattle management regretted for not re-signing Guillen.

How was Butler any different this year from what Alex Gordon was last year? As a hitter? Plus the team kept up Tony Pena Jr. and Ross Gload. Sending down Billy Butler was a joke.

As for the Guillen thing. No that isn't the only time he has snapped this year. He didn't run out a grounball a few nights ago that he would have beat after the fielder booted the ball. He then proceeded to cry about the fans booing him. Saying he didn't give a frick about the fans. The Radio stations down here have all basically said that Guillen's rant is what got Butler sent down. Oh and good for Seattle they want him back. They are a horrible organization. Meanwhile the team that wins that division every year, the Angels, want nothing to do with the clown. Funny.

How about for an identity they start getting good players, then resigning them?

The reason why the Royals didn't option Alex to Omaha last year was that they knew that he was going to struggle, which is why they decided to keep him on the MLB level, last year. Butler just suddenly exploded on the scene last year, raking all over the place, and the Royals expected him to continue to do that this year. Unfortunatey for Butler, his plate discipline just got sloppy, and started chasing crappy pitches.

As for sending down Butler, it's probably a joke, but at the same time, he was in a very very nasty slump, that they have no choice but to option him. Now why they did him over Tony Pena Jr, I have no idea. Pena Jr is not even worthy of being on a MLB roster, let alone, being on anybody's AAA level. Why the Royals keep this clown, I do not know. Personally, I would perfer Neifi Perez over Tony Pena Jr, one way or another.

Guillen is Guillen. Yeah, he can do a better job on hustling out some plays, but remember when us fans were getting on Aramis when he wasn't hustling becuase we didn't know that he was hurting at the time. I believe it was his thigh or his leg, something like that. Well, this is the same situation with Guillen. It's something wrong with his leg or groin, I don't know which one, but it's no different than Aramis. Why hustle so hard, when it's a routine grounder, only to re-injure yourself? I wouldn't take that chance.

As for Seattle being a horrible organization, it's debateable.

I have a friend who went to high school with Francouer. According to her he...

1) Was Senior Class President

2) Married his high school sweetheart who was Homecoming Queen

3) Was completely full of himself and a total egomaniac.

Aaaaaaand he's back

Braves recalled OF Jeff Francoeur from Double-A Mississippi.

Francoeur lasted three games in Mississippi, where he went 7-for-13 with a triple and two RBI. It's unlikely that one weekend away from the big leagues cured all that ails him, but it certainly could have helped the 24-year-old. Francoeur picked to go to Double-A because he credits manager Phillip Wellman, who used to be the hitting coach, with changing his career during one night of work three years ago. Hopefully the time in the minors gave him at least something to build off of.

"Francoeur is awesome" has 29,000 hits. And "Francoeur is the best baseball player ever" has 20,000 hits.

"Francoeur Baseball's Superman" got 13,000 hits. "Francoeur is Hitler" got 8,000 hits. "Francoeur lives on Jupiter" got 8,040 hits.

72,500 for Francoeur is the worst ball player ever.

43,000 for "francouer the is major minors kid young arm baseball player sometimes braves atlanta ball hitter double"
