Not at all. And his AVG is currently way too low for a guy that shows so little patience. However, I think he'll have a big second half.

who is the best exempt player in the league?

lincecum, hamels for the pitchers; kinsler, hamilton, hanley and uggla for hitters?

I got 2 of them bitches and traded Uggla before the season.

Verlander has been pretty good his past seven or so starts - but he has further to go to reestablish himself in that class. I'm obviously pretty high on Joba & Gallardo, too, though they have yet to establish they can perform over complete seasons.

Billingsley is in the discussion, as are Dasiuke and Lester from Boston.

btw - damn shame about those extra nine ab's for prince! :D

that uggla trade kinda worked for everybody. brian got soto, i got uggla, you got wainwright. obviously wainwright is hurt, but they've all been good when healthy. though i'd maybe trade uggla for soto at this point since towles has been worthless.

Yeah, that was a good trade all around. All 3 are exempt too. Uggla was a no-brainer because I had Kinsler who I had more faith in doing what he has this year, though Uggla would look great at U right now. Wainwright was right inside the top 15 pitchers before he got hurt.

I'll bet Towles mashes this go around. Houston needs him to do exactly that. Soto just barely went over 50 at bats last year, so he burned a year also. But, I do like the rule going forward. It sucks to have a September call up get 5 to 10 at bats and lose a year of eligibility. Heck, Soto is a perfect example. Without that rule, he wouldn't be exempt after this season since he had like 1 at bat one season and 14 the next to go along with his 50+ last year.

that's part of the reason i traded him.

I don't know how they compare to others but my best exempt hitter is Reynolds with 265.2 pts and my best pitcher is Jurrjens with 292 pts at the end of week 15.

I'll be dumping more than 2, since I'll be keeping Brandon Webb, Matt Holliday and probably one or more of Carlos Pena, Rickie Weeks, Milton Bradley, Vernon Wells or Javier Vasquez depending on who fits within the cap.

yeah, i never got the excitement over having 15 really good exempt players.

Yeah, you're right. No one wants exempt players at the end of the year. :D

And how am I supposed to control the fact that many of my minor leaguers got promoted to the bigs this year? Stewart and Scherzer are still minor league eligible and I hope they stay that way.

I've had others get promoted that I went ahead and dropped, also.

yea, its not a negative . . .

Here is the all-exempt lineup at the all-star break - not a bad team but weak at the infield corners (I used projected position so Braun is not at 3b - though Longoria will look better there in a full year I am sure - 1b is just plain weak).

C Soto 271.0 Fuzzy

1b Loney 245.2 Alamo - also worth mentioning Votto and Gordon technically leads here

2b Kinsler 388.2 Raw Dawgs - well duh - also Uggla and Pedroia here

SS H Ramirez 362.2 Tootie

3b Longoria 267.5 HBC

OF Hamilton 382.8 NSBB

OF Quentin 336.0 Lynx

OF Braun 323.5 Fuzzy

U Uggla 312.0 GHS

SP Hamels 402.5 Raw

SP Lincecum 399.0 Alamo

SP Volquez 378.5 Raw

SP Danks 337.5 GHS

SP Lester 337.0 Alamo

RP Soria 238.0 Alamo

RP Saito 193.5 HBC

I have the highest scoring exempt hitter and the highest scoring exempt pitcher. And I have Volquez the 3rd highest scoring exempt pitcher.
