im sure dlee and perry have just been sittin around listenin to the fugees and eatin funyuns when they should be watching tape and getting in the cage

If they have been watching tape, they are watching the wrong one. By now he should have this corrected.

You say this as if hitting major league pitching is easy.

I never said that. The fact Lee leads the world in grounding into double plays should be cause for concern from your 3 hitter. There is something in his swing that is causing him to keep beating the ball in the ground. Derrek Lee needs to be hitting fly balls, not leading the world in double plays.

The fact is you cant afford to have your 3 hitter hitting into double plays every time the opportunity arrises. He needs to move at least to the 5 spot until he finds his grove.

Soriano-Ramirez-Lee would be one hell of a 3-4-5.

his career high for gidp is 18 so he already surpassed it today thats pretty drastic. On pace to double his previous high and surpass the record. Whats more concerning is that he just looks like hes guessing instead of making a decision based on pitch recognition. Yeah, i dont think hes a three hitter anymore either.

"I have double-playitis this year," Lee said. "I don't know what's going on with the double play, but bases loaded, runner on third and [one] out, I tried to get it in the air. I just got over the top of it and rolled over."

Its not just that Lee, you are swinging at some horrible pitches low away, low inside, and just everywhere that isn't the strike zone.

He's not seeing the ball well at all.

Color me surprised. I went through his numbers, breaking them up by "streaks." I didn't realize he was hitting quite so many balls on the ground in April.

Dates FB% GB% LD% BA OBP SLG BABIP
24-Jun to 27-Jun	0.214	0.643	0.143	0.133	0.188	0.133	0.143
08-Jun to 22-Jun	0.333	0.333	0.333	0.354	0.458	0.563	0.417
04-May to 07-Jun	0.364	0.491	0.145	0.221	0.241	0.382	0.240
31-Mar to 03-May	0.315	0.481	0.204	0.352	0.433	0.639	0.354

Check out that slugging percentage compared to his GB% in April.
