as far as the trop goes and domes in general; the ceiling should be painted blue or a darker color. There is no way that it should be almost the same color as the ball. Also isnt their something up with the color of the batters eye in the trop? I remember Len and Bob talking about how that makes Kazmir almost unhittable at home.

Back to bonds. I have no doubt in my mind he could still play. he'd be a great pinch hitter and probably a good dh in the AL. Plenty of guys juiced but no player I have ever seen has the hand eye coordination that Bonds has. The fact that he posted this line at age 43: .276/.480/.565./1.045 with 28 homers and 66 rbi's in limited play on a crap team is pretty darn good. Good enough to keep playing at least. In baseball just about anything goes: cheaters, drug addicts, wife beaters, fellons etc. If Bonds didnt spend 21 years alienating himself from everyone in baseball he'd probably still be playing.

Instead of his previous nickname (Barroids) people should start calling him Bail Bonds. :D

IIRC, there's a service in Colorado Springs called "Bobby Bonds Bail Bonds"

That would be hilarious if true (especially since Barry's father was Bobby). I checked Google out of curiosity and found a Bobby Brown Bail Bonds in Colorado, but not Bobby Bonds. That doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one; maybe they just don't have a web site. Or maybe there used to be one but not anymore.

There's one in lafayette, Indiana called Bonds, Bail Bonds. I laugh every time I drive by.

So the Cubs should tell Bud this....if you don't let Cuban have a fair chance to own this team, we're signing Bonds.

i support this idea.

I haven't been there since December, so it's probably Bobby Brown's bail bonds (still hilarious, IMO), and I was just recalling wrong.

Kool-Aid? You're telling me you don't think that Barry Bonds bat could be useful to a major league team?

Again, we are talking about Barry freaking Bonds for the major league minimum. I'd advocate (especially with Edmonds starting to cool and probably in need of more rest) putting him in left field, Soriano in right, and Fukudome in center. Soriano could handle right, and Fukudome is an excellent enough fielder to make up for Barry's lack of range. But he'd sign for the minimum. This could be as little as upgrading from Daryl Ward to Barry freaking Bonds for your go to pinch hitter.

Collusion and nothing less. He put up a 1.000 OPS last year. .480 on base percentage. Obviously there might be a little rust. You may only get a .250/.400/.500 line out of him. Um, sign me up please still. Especially for next to nothing. He's only a spectacle because the media won't let it drop. Their job is to generate traffic or sell papers. But in the grand context of things he's a guy facing a perjury charge in a trial that won't happen until next spring training. Not our problem, we have every right to sign any available player who could help us.

If I can come to grips with Jim Edmonds potentially being on the World Series winning Cubs team, I can come to grips with anyone. How the hell did so many of us become so high and mighty? We are talking about signing someone to play professional baseball. Not like we're talking about making a convict President. Though our President should be a convict. But that's another thread. :D

Because it is about more than stats. Teams don't want the PR nightmare nor all the baggage that Barry brings along. So it's not collusion.
