Nope. I just wasn't sure as I thought you could move a player coming off the DL into the roster, if you could do the same with a minor league player. I can do it on Sunday for next week, just wasn't sure although I bet this has been answered at some point over the years.

I ran into the same thing with Jay Bruce. I didn't put him in my line-up until the week after his debut because I wasn't sure of the exact rule. It cost me a game that week!

My understanding is that you can do that when the player is actually called up in midweek, but that it isn't allowed if the player was already in the majors but still on your minor league roster because he was still eligible.

agreed.

it would be just like if a guy got brought off the DL mid-week, in my opinion.

Exactly the analogy I was thinking of. Both cases relate to change in status in MLB, and I always understood that to be a valid reason to make a mid-week change.

I have no intention of making the change this week simply because I don't even know exactly what day he came up, and I never connected the dots to insert him into the starting lineup until I noticed he started yesterday. I know I personally watched him play on Friday in AA, but he could have gone up on Saturday and if thats the case I would not want to move him mid-week.

Still it's good to know, cause I will be making the move once Price gets the call :-)
