The catcher Matt LaPorta crashed into for China in the previous game tore his ACL in the collision. LaPorta has a mild concussion.

wait i wasn't really paying attention, did the bronze medal in the women's (girls') vault go to a chinese girl that pretty much landed one of her vaults on her knees? i think i heard one of the people say that is a deduction of 0.8... shouldn't that be a lot more of a deduction, being as you didn't complete the most important part of the vault?

 

in other news, the u.s. women's volleyball team just won an entertaining match against italy to make the semifinals and have a good chance at a medal. also, logan tom is hot and most certainly of legal age.

You would be correct. She basically did a face plant after the vault - and yet still beat Sacramone.

yeah actually they have been showing a lot of the things i like watching most (water polo, indoor volleyball) during the daytime hours. i was working 4A-11A today so i was able to watch most of the match live.

 

i suspect that they'll get some prime time coverage now that they're into the medal rounds.
