i am watching the duke-siu game and duke literally saved the ball 3 times on 3 consecutive passes, just throwing it up in the air and siu couldn't get it. they just don't have the athletes.

I hate to say it, but I think they've actually looked better with Frazier on the floor than without. A lot of that if not all is probably due to his and Demetri's time over lapping, but he hasn't killed the offense like normal.

Most surprising thing of the college basketball season so far?

 

Bob Knight is actually a very good announcer. I'm speechless. :shock:

Chester's fine as an off guard. He just shouldn't run the point or be your shooting guard. For those times when Brock's head is lodged firmly up his ass, DMac, Trent, and Chester is the best backcourt to go with right now. When Legion comes around, it's a case of whether you need Trent for his offense or Chester for his defense/rebounding.

frazier is a good role player, he just better not be counted on to take the big shot or have the ball in his hands at the end of games.

 

i can't tell you how many times last season that he'd get the ball with a slim lead late in the ball game, and just dribble around and wait to be fouled. chet, i admire your confidence, but you suck at shooting free throws, the other team WANTS the ball in your hands. not that anybody was particularly good at shooting free throws last year, but seriously. there's confident and then there's dumb. i guess it's bruce's fault, he probably encourages chet to do that.

Terrible officiating in the Duke game. It was a foul, but they never blew the whistle and only after the Duke player laid on the ground did they decide not only a foul should be called, but a flagrant foul.

The knock on Duke the past few years has been that they aren't athletic. However, they play solid on defense and know how to create shots on offense. Combine with that with an uncanny ability to draw fouls and they don't need to be real athletic.

I wish Brock would get to see the floor with Demetri more. He made some good cuts when he was in there, but nobody saw him. Then it looked like he got frustrated and stuck his head up his butt like you said.

The Citadel is a bad team but for being a road game in a small gym it sounded pretty impressive.

 

Tucker ended 7-11 from 3. He may have the quickest release and prettiest shot of any Iowa player I've seen. Gatens had another all-around game. 13 points, 6 assists, 4 steals, 3 rebounds.

 

Relatively tough test up next with Oakland on Sunday.

i'm interested to see mccamey, brock, and legion on the court together. brock is one of the few players on this team who can get his own shot.
