I was waiting for Smoltz to come back and be one of my closers. Now that I am about to drop him, who do you think I should pick up to fit in his place? Ryan Franklin, or Rafael Soriano?

Soriano.

He'll have priority over Acosta in the Atlanta pen.

Atlanta will probably win more games than the Cards going forward.

Franklin has been peripherally terrible.

LaRussa has been moving Perez slowly to the end of the game, and could supplant Franklin before long, especially if Franklin's peripherals catch up to him.
