Roto style keeper league.

I was offered.

Jose Reyes

Nate McClouth

Francisco Rodriguez

Joe Saunders

for

Hanley Ramirez

Jeremy Hermida

I declined. I'm guessing that was a wise move, but input?

I agree with your decision. my love for Hanley is as vast as something extremely vast, and I really think Hermida is going to keep getting better as this season goes on. that and McClouth is due to come back to earth at some point

What he said.

McClouth is more likely and Ramirez is a stud. At the beginning of the year I was thinking that HRam was going to see fewer pitches to hit since fatman was no longer there for protection. I was wrong and he's continued to rake.

Like Bob Sanders, my Hanley Ramirez man crush would prevent me from making that trade, although I will admit it's very tempting. Reyes will give you the steals but it looks like his power potential and his hitting really overall is starting to show its true colors: mediocre. Saunders is a gamble, K-Rod is always solid but he's been a little sketchy this year, and McLouth could come down, although he could also be in a breakout year.

All in all though, it's a keeper league, and Hanley is not only young, but elite. You'd be trading a sure thing fantasy stud for a few guys who will only help you in certain spots (or not at all if they turn out to be flukes). Wise choice

The way I look at trades is this..........if you are giving up the best player in the trade, and NOT getting the best player, then it's not a trade worthwhile. And while I like Jose Reyes/Francsico Rodriguez portion of the trade, but McClouth/Saunders of the deal is not so tempting. McClouth and Saunders are players you can easily replace.

So yeah, Raw, you made a wise decision. You never give up the best player in a trade.

i don't know what to make of mclouth. nothing in his minor league track record indicates that he should be able to do this, but all he's done since getting regular playing time for the pirates is hit. he has a good approach at the plate. i guess whether or not you make the deal depends on whether you think he is for real.

great BB:K rate and a doubles machine in the minors

he's clearly grown into power, which is not terribly uncommon. some guys i can think of are Garrett Anderson, Holliday, Chris Duncan, Cano, Beltran, Hunter, Carlos Guillen and I'm sure hundreds of others as well.

last 109 G (437 PA):

80 R, 24 HR, 66 RBI, 20 SB, 0.287/0.368/0.558

good for a full season pace (621 PA) of

114 R, 34 HR, 94 RBI, 28 SB

i like McLouth a lot
