It says a lot about Sotos mental maturity to be able to have a God awful at bat and then keep focused and turn it around. He really doesn't bring his bad ABs back with him. Even when its a string of bad ABs, like when he went 0 for that series and then hit a bomb.

Not to mention the fact that he had a not-so-good defensive inning right beofre that as well.

He's a guy I'm not overly surprised Duncan has had success with. He was willing to do whatever since he was on about his last chance, and he's got a much bigger arm than most of the guys Duncan has turned around. He's found some semblance of control, also a Duncan strength, plus he's got a much larger margin for error as a starter than as a reliever.

I feel like this game is missing something. None of the Padres have spiked themselves this game (I don't count Peavy's dive because he actually caught the ball.)

calling a soto home run isn't impressive, it's inevitable

 

Not calling a Soto HR is more impressive ;)

If it means more Geo HRs, sure
