Mark Prior experienced discomfort in his surgically repaired right shoulder during a throwing session on Saturday and will be examined by team doctors.

There aren't even any jokes left to make. The Padres knew they couldn't cvount on Prior when they took a chance on him. They'll hold out hope he'll contribute later on, but it's hardly likely to happen

I know it isn't our problem anymore, but it still makes me sick to my stomach.

Yeah, it still depresses me. I have no hard feelings towards Prior whatsoever. With the way the organization handled him in 2003, can anybody really blame him for leaving? As much as it sucks for Cubs fans the way his career has played out, I think people forget how much it sucks for him. He was destined to be a superstar making hundred of millions and now what is he? Nothing.

I really could care less. He was a guy with great talent, but couldn't stay healthy. I'll always remember what he did in 2003, but I moved on a long time ago.

I pegged him for about 100 wins by now. He will never be forgotten because of what he did in 03', he just gets to be another example of what could have been.

Fixed.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine. :)

I became immune to this stuff back in 2006. I also gave up regretting what could have been with Prior in 2007.

Maybe he really was fragile and would have broken down no matter what. But...damn, between colliding with a midget 2B and taking a line drive right off his pitching arm, the guy had some terrible luck. It didn't help that his team didn't give a crap about his long-term health.
