Ah yes, the wonderful precursor injury to Tommy John.

Let's hope that Gallagher and Chen continue their dominance.

BTW - Has anyone seen Chen in person? What's his stuff look like?

pretty sure this is the first game that Chen will have pitched for the Chiefs...hopefully we'll get the game in tonight and I'll be able to pass along my impressions tomorrow sometime.

This is what Steve Wilson (Pac Rim scouting coordinator) had to say about Hung-Wen Chen at the time he signed: "He's the equivalent of a college junior sign in the States. Very polished pitcher, he has the ablility to throw 5 pitches, and has pretty good command of all of them. Pitches comfortably at 89, but will get it up to 91-94 in a closer situation. Has a usable curve, and slider which can be tightened up, but his split can be an out pitch vs. lefties in the big leagues I feel. He can move his fb around, and has a feel for pitching. He's a good athlete, fields his position well, and is tough on the mound."

It's been crazy here today! It was raining earlier in the morning and I took my bike to class since the sun came out and there was what seemed to be a decent break in the clouds. About halfway to school, I started getting pelted in the face with frozen rain that was coming down in droves and being blown all over the place. I had to check myself in the mirror when I got here just to make sure my face didn't get cut up.

After that, the rain's been on again, off again, with some really strong winds. Needless to say, it feels like March outside.
