St. Louis holds off the Brewers 4-3.

 

Cubs now 2 games ahead of Milwaukee

Eric Byrnes hits a 2-run homer to give the D-backs the lead 3-2. They hold on to win 4-2.

 

That team is good, but they've played the Giants as much as we've played the Pirates.

In the long term, the Cards are a much less significant risk to us, so I guess any Brewer loss would be good!

 

I was thinking along the same lines, early on, let the Cards beat the Brewers, its a long season and the Cards are a terrible team. Inevitably the Cards will fade into 4th or 5th place but, until then let'em help out the Cubs.
