The Cubs get him back if Toronto can't trade him or outright him in 10 days.

 

Also of Rule 5 note, Tim Lahey was designated for assignment a few days ago by the Phils. If he makes it back to the Twins, we'll see if he comes back to the Cubs as the PTBNL for Craig Monroe.

I can't see how the Tigers or Rangers would let him slip away and should try to make a deal for him.

Wells cleared waivers and was returned to the Cubs yesterday. I believe he's on Iowa's roster right now though probably not game-ready.
