I love the word "schmootz".

Although I thought it was "schmutz".

 

Either way, I'm sure there's nothing suspicious about a bunch of goop on the thumb, forefinger and middle finger of a pitcher's throwing hand.

If only there was a way for baseball players to get their hands clean. Sadly, that technology is unavailable in Southern California. Someday...

That's what gets me. It's not on his ring finger or pinkie, just those three. Usually if you get sweat on your hand from wiping your head or whatever, it gets on all five fingers. Usually if you get rosin in your hand from the bag, you get it on all five fingers. Me's a thinkin' he's a cheatin'. #-o

The stuff on Rogers' hand looked slick and greasy, and in one specific spot of his hand. That just looks like his hand got dirty and he wiped the dirt off, and it's all over his hand, and ridiculously noticeable. I doubt it was a "foreign substance"
