Another shameful performance.

Rich Hill is our only hope to avoid starting the season 0-5.

I don't know how much comfort we should take from that.

But since you requested for one postgame thread, something thats taken 6 years to finally accomplish, I would like to talk about the following topics:

1. Lilly's start

2. Soriano's play

3. Kendall burning the Cubs

4. No one trying to run on Kendall

5. KFuk and ARam's botched hit and run

6. The fan response at Wrigley to the game

7. How annoying Brewers fans are

8. Why Howry sucks early in the season

9. Why haven't the Cubs worn the blue jerseys yet

Lou said, in the postgame press conference, that Soriano will hit leadoff tomorrow and Theriot will bat second.

Well that should just about do it. 160-2, here we come.

Good. It's a lot harder to get Theriot either down in the lineup or out of the lineup if he's batting leadoff, where Lou feels he doesn't have many options. Lou has plenty of guys he likes in the 2 spot, so if Theriot is bad for another couple of weeks (I realize he wasn't bad today, but his combined 2 games are) it will be much easier to move him to either the bottom of the lineup or the bench.

I wonder if Soriano complained to make Lou do it this soon? I was wondering if he would after seeing his comments about needing to make a big adjustment to handle hitting with runners on base more often.

At the rate Lou is going, Soriano and Fukudome will likely be the 1-2 hitters by the end of April. Of course, that all depends on one of the bottom of the order hitters proving to Lou that they can protect Ramirez.

1. Not good.

2. Disappointing.

3. Annoying.

4. Not a big deal to me.

5. Don't see the point in trying. Ramirez isn't scoring on a double, and best case scenario is 1st and 3rd.

6. Don't know, only followed gameday.

7. I saw a guy walking out of his building with a Brewers hat this morning while I was walking my dog. Considered saying something but was too tired.

8. The vast majority are inconsistent and unreliable.

9. Because they are hideous.

I guess Soriano's legs are back to 100%, because that was the nonsensical excuse for the move in the first place.

I'm at the point where just let the big baby hit 1st, but please for the love of God have either KFuk or DeRosa hitting second. They are 2 of the only 3 players (Lee being the other) that has a clue of how to approach a majority of their ABs.

I doubt Soriano said anything. Judging by Lou's response today, and his previous comments about Soriano, I think he just feels Alfonso is best suited hitting first. Lou also mentioned that Sori is running better (by extension I will assume that they will expect him to run because a reporter asked about the Cubs' running game...)

1. Wasn't too bad, he settled in for a while there

2. I'm almost willing to bet he'll get some hits out of the leadoff spot tomorrow

3. Almost as annoying as Ryan Braun

4. See 3

5. I can't believe Kosuke swung

6. Cubs deserved it

7. LOL Brewer fans... good one

8. Cold weather?

9. Z is the only person who likes them

BTW, suggestion. We should have these threads in the Game Threads forum. That way when we want to look back on a past "postgame thread" we can find them easier

1. Better than it looked in my opinion (Pie cost him a run with his high throw home and the defense cost him extra pitches today) but there is obviously room for improvement.

2. Suckage. Hopefully a return to his favorite spot will get him going.

3. He's in the division now so it was bound to happen. The Cubs will get him back on the bases eventually.

4. In fairness, they haven't had too many opportunities. They will burn him eventually

5. Fuk won't strike out too many times, IMO, so it was worth it to me.

6. People are frustrated and a bit annoying...

7. I can't disagree with this at all.

8. True dat. I thought he looked good until, well, he started sucking with 2 outs.

9. It's Opening Week so they are staying traditional. I'm willing to bet that Z will wear the blue tops in his next start.

I'd switch Theriot and Pie. Otherwise, looks good.

4. Daryle Ward could steel home on that guy

5. it hapens.
