2 ex-Cubs make Blue Jays final roster

The Blue Jays revealed on Wednesday that Rule-5 pick Randy Wells and outfielder Buck Coats will receive the team's last two roster spots.

 

Both are capitalizing on injuries. Wells will be the seventh reliever with B.J. Ryan out, and Coats, who was technically sent down earlier this month, is the fourth bench player because of Scott Rolen's absence. Wells was chosen over Jesse Carlson, John Parrish, Mike Gosling, Shawn Camp and Armando Benitez.

I liked Wells as a potential middle reliever down the line. We'll see if he can stick in Toronto.

How do some of these guys keep getting jobs? Buck Coats? Seriously? I know they don't have the money the AL east twin towers do, but Buck Coats is not going to help them be competitive in that division.

Floyd is there. Hinske isn't but I could have sworn he was getting a spot on their roster.
