OK SO fine he isn't a good keeper. I'm done trying to find points to argue what was a dumb statement to begin with.

If it makes you feel better Wolf, Barton was someone's original 10 keepers so wasn't even available in the draft. I may pick up Jurrgens to help ease the Kelvim Escobar disaster.

Saw Colby at Oklahoma City (Rangers AAA). Even though the Redhawks pitching is not that good, Colby looked really good

I should think you'll see him get around 300 mlb at bats this year. Maybe more the way he played this spring and the start he's had at Memphis.

 

I think he could step in now and approach an .800 ops.

The next 3-4 years, who would you rather have: Conor Jackson or Billy Butler?

My thinking is that Jackson is closer to his prime and will be better the next two seasons, does Butler have a high enough upside to warrant choosing him over Jackson?

What do you see in Miller and Barton that I don't?

 

Miller won't soon have the wins, Ks (and probably WHIP) to make him fantasy relevant and Barton probably won't ever hit 20 HRs and he's in a nasty lineup that will inhibit runs created. From my perspective it seems youre confusing their fantasy value with real life value.

Keeper. Sleeper.

 

Keeper as in a player that may not be an awesome fantasy player this year but has a good shot of being one in the future.

Sleeper as in a player that not many people would expect to be good and thusly would be available via the waiver wire.

 

Sorry, but to define the term "sleeper" and including Jay Bruce seems a bit odd to me. He is, after all, the TOP prospect in baseball. Not so sure that the term sleeper applies here.
