The Tigers are reportedly trying to find out what it would take for the A's to part with Huston Street.

Probably more than they have to offer after giving up most of their farm system for Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis. Rick Porcello is their only top prospect left, and he can't be traded anyway, not that the Tigers would part with him for a reliever. Street may go this summer, but it probably won't be to Detroit.

After the load they gave Florida for Biggy/Dontrelle, I seriously doubt they have enought to land Street. And that includes if Porcello was available. Detroit has to lower their sites.

Dempster. They could possibly be interested in Fuld too.

What would we want in return though?

Does it really matter if they were taking on Dempster's salary?

that INCLUDES if porcello was available? i don't think so. if the tigers offered porcello for street, the a's would make that deal in a heartbeat.

I think Jacque Jones could be a good fit, I think all he needs is a change of scenery

Based on talent, yes they would. But they could have taken the kid in the draft, but passed on it, because of "contract demands." And just because he signed with Detroit, doesn't mean Oakland would want to get the contract for somebody who hasn't produce anything. So no, they wouldn't do a Street for Porcello deal, because quite frankly, I think the A's could do better.
