This makes me upset, because I was hoping they'd trade him to the Cubs for chump change. I have a baseball man-crush on Ian Snell

Pirates sign Snell to three-year deal

Pirates agreed to terms with RHP Ian Snell on a three-year contract with club options for 2011 and 2012.

Terms have yet to be revealed. The second option year would cover his first season of free agency. Snell has been wanting a long-term deal since the end of last year, but it look a long time for the Pirates to come around on the idea. Since there's always been concern about Snell's ability to hold up as a starter, it's safe to assume the Pirates received pretty favorable terms in return for their commitment. Mar. 16 - 4:56 pm et
