Red Sox Sign Colon to Minor League Deal

The Boston Red Sox have reached preliminary agreement on a minor league contract with right-hander Bartolo Colon, a source told ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.

 

If he makes the Opening Day roster, Colon would provide rotation insurance for Boston, which will be without Curt Schilling, who is working his way back from a shoulder injury.

I'm just sick of hearing about Boston. The entire city. And their faux "national" sports network.

As a Cub fan (and not a Red Sox fan) living just north of Boston, I'm not too proud to admit that I get sick of hearing about them because I'm JEALOUS!!! I'm jealous of their payroll, of the young arms they've brought up from the minors, and mostly jealous of their recent WS success.

 

Will Colon have any impact on their team this year - highly doubtful, but who cares. Odds are he won't even make the opening day roster.
